Three year Anniversy fanart contest
In honor of Asis’ third year of existence, and really, the first full year that I’ve been actively sharing it around the web, it’s time for the first official fanart contest!
*So, what’s in it for you?
First, anyone that submits anything at all, gets access to a special wallpaper only for those that enter.
Next we’re handing out some physical prizes:
~ Two signed and sketched in copies of the first Asis book.
~ One of the last limited edition Sans Title Flasks.
~ Original Asis art, some of which was used in creating pages.
~ Plus a handful of donor post cards and soon to be released pins.
How will these prizes be broken up among winners? It really depends on how many people enter. Tentatively there will be three winners. The top two will get books and bonus items, with a third getting some art with bonus items. The more people that enter, the more I’ll break up the art and add additional smaller prizes so we can have five or six winners.
And all submissions will also get a credited post in a Fanart Friday journal, with a link to your gallery, website or web comic.
*How long will this run?
Until October 31st, give or take for time zone differences. Winners will be pulled and contacted in early November. (This also gives me time to make sure the new shipment of printed books in.)
*What can I submit?
Anything creative! Visual art will likely be the dominate feature, but sculpted, crafted or otherwise offbeat art is also welcome. Music and vocal art is fine as well.
Subject wise anything you want! Draw your favorite character (even the ones that haven’t shown up yet, if you stalk my art else where you might know some of them). Draw a scene from the comic so far, place your own characters into the world setting, or draw your characters interacting with the Asis cast.
Your submission doesn’t have to be canon, you can be as serious or as silly as you want.
The ONLY requirement on thematic design is that it must be at least a little obvious that this was made for the contest, and not something you took and tried to wheedle into the theme.
*Any other rules I should know about?
– You may also submit more than one entry, the only requirement for this is that each image must be significantly different. No ‘variations’ on one drawing.
– Each person may only win one prize regardless of submission number.
– Files should be web ready, and kept no larger than 1000 pixels on any one side.
– Keep it safe, and within the comic’s rating. No adult art please.
– Due to the weight limited with US shipping, I can only ship books to winners in some countries. USA, Canada, UK are all safe, with some regions of South American and Asia. In the event a book winner is located outside shippable areas, a replacement prize will be sent instead. OR I’m more than happy to discuss having winners in places I can’t ship to cover the overage of shipping costs, with me covering the cost of the book+basic shipping.
*I’m not a great artist..I’ll never win!
Well you’re in luck, we won’t be picking winners based only on skill level. In fact, creativity and some other factors will play a heavy role in picking of winners. I am planning to have some offline, non artistic friends help pick their favorite submissions, which means anyone regardless of level can win something!
