Account in the process of being refunded, so the donation drive is back online.

Alright, I got my account with Top Webcomics back up and running, so there’s a new vote incentive art. And now that I can change the file, I have no excuse to get back into doing bonus stuff.

Finally getting to revamp some of the site that’s been nagging me to get done. So here’s whats done and what’s still to do:

Add wallpaper download to mainpage: DONE
Aww yeah look at  that, new wallpaper to follow, now that I see the old one daily.

Change the donation plugin: DONE
Done. Needed a better way to track bonus page donations, now it’s all real time. Donate a dollar, get closer to bonus stuff!

Revamp character profile page: SORTA DONE
Did a handful, still need to draw new art for the later cast.

I was going to post up the pencils for ‘City full of things’ page 3, but Top Webcomics had a crash and I’m waiting on having my account password fixed. That’ll be up soon. But in the mean time, you can see a preview of what the bonus with the little icon there.

Alright dear readers, here’s some updates of vital importance.

-Next weekend I will be pretending I know /any/ French, and taking a two day trip to Quebec City. This means I will only have a one page update, but since it’s kicking off a new chapter, it shouldn’t feel too barren.

-Kicking off a new chapter NEXT week? What about this Monday? Well, I thought it was a good time to catch up on the cover and closer art I’ve been ignoring since around chapter 6. So instead of an actual comic page on Monday, I will be adding two stand alone bits of art to the archive.

Man, I really keep the endings for each chapter as such a downer. Anyway, let’s end that chapter for now.

Secret confession: I didn’t reference the phone in the prior page than face palmed with I noticed I needed a close up for this page. I regret not actually looking at a real phone.

Yes I know. I missed Monday. I try not to miss pages when I head out of town on non-convention trips, but last weekend was killer on me and I couldn’t get the energy to color a second page.

Hey, this might interest you, I’m working on a second side project with a good friend.  We’ve collaborated on the story, and I’m doing the coloring. Currently it’s a bit slow on the updates, but the quality should make up for that.

Together in Mind

I owe you guys one page, for not leaving a note that I would be out of town last weekend and about the lack of updates. Next weekend is another convention trip, and might result in only a Monday page being posted. We will see, I’ll push to make it a two page week for failing to post about the last one.

The next scene is an example one of those this little areas of wiggle room I have in an already complete story.  Once in awhile I just have this inspiration strikes that fit nicely into the downtime between the major story points.

Pardon the dust, you might experience intermitten CRAP and LULZ while I fix this up.

So, that early page the other night? It’s story time.

While randomly doing stuff online the power goes out, finding myself with one hour of laptop time, and a router/modem on a backup generator on equally low power levels, I quickly lettered the page and posted it. You know in case the power wasn’t on quickly.

I’m glad I reacted quickly, as the reason for the lack of power was a truck had skipped the curb, landed on top of a parked car, while also managing to hit a telephone line which in turn crashed into the powerline. Visualize that, a truck on top of a car, and a telephone poll balanced against the powerline. Crazy. We did get power back around 3am the next morning.

And the best birthday present ever. Patch Together picked up the Skulldog plush toy design, he’s already half way on the needed pre-orders before they make it into a toy. The way Patch works is you WILL NOT BE CHARGED any money until they finish creating a prototype plush, and are ready to ship the finals. Right now at $24.95, but once it reaches the full 20 orders needed, that will go up, get in early and get the discount.

Back on track after my two week trip to the over, mysterious coast of the US. Sadly, this Monday’s page will undoubtedly be a little late, as I need to make a trip up to Vermont, and depending on how late I get back, it could end up being posted Tuesday.

Well folks, that aforementioned downtime in January is now.

Next week there will be a Saturday update, but not Monday, and the following weekend there will be no update as well. The next update after this break will pick up again on the 30th.

I hate to do the downtime, but being out of town makes it hard to get things done.

Seriously sorry there, for disappearing for a week and not leaving a note about the fact that I’d not be updating last weekend. I was away visiting my parents and enjoyed a four day trip to Disney World.

There will be some more down time in January for two weeks, I’ll try to have page ready for that, but not making any promises, since I have a lot of work to do from now until then.

Thought I’d give you awesome readers a head’s up that next weekend’s lack of pages. You guessed it, I’m out of town again for convention hoping.

My goal when I get back is blast some more bonus pages for Five’s side story and answer the bucket of emails I’ve got building up. I really let that go..

First, I have to say, I feel sort of dumb, but also a bit bad. I thought I had put up the second bonus page to Five’s story as the vote incentive WEEKS ago, tonight I stopped into Top Web comics to change it to the third, and I noticed I never changed from the last sketch. D’oh.

Now it really is the second page. Third will go up sometime next week.

Also, long time readers will know what the upcoming Holidays mean to the comic, once again I’ll be doing the only donation drive I ever do here, the one that cover my trip to visit my parents.

If you aren’t familiar with what goes down, every year my parents steal me away for a week to visit, and it throws off my updates for a bit, so instead of missing out on those pages, I take donations. These donations help me take time off my normal work schedule to get two pages ready for the trip.

If it hits the usual $60, you won’t even notice I’m gone, updates will go up as planned. AND this year I’m going to making some stickers to send out to donors during the November drive.

I’ll make a new news post about this, with some silly official banner and such, for now, you can still donate using the dongle on the side bar.

Back from my week off, returning home with only minor sickness, and not some awful Halloween flu. I was given a list of three things to do NOT do:

1. Don’t share drinks.
2. Don’t eat food that other people have touched.
3. Don’t touch your mouth.

With in the first two hours of being at the convention, I did all three. Do I tempt fate? All the time.

In other fun news, my boyfriend finally read my comic. No really, hes been telling me forever that he didn’t want to out of fear he’d be too critical of it. Today he confused the heck out of me by referencing  Devin as ‘your comic guy that’s dead, but he doesn’t know it’. I told him to write a thesis paper about this idea, like the ‘Farris Bueller Fight Club Theory’ , since I’ve never had anyone take that view of the story so far.

So guys, does anyone else think he’s on to something?

Sorry about the lack of pages last week, I ended up a bit sicker than I thought, and with the chapter over I decided on a break instead.

In return, I have /finally/ found the missing thumbnails for the bonus comic that mysteriously stopped updating awhile back. New age to follow for vote incentives, probably by the time the week starts.

I’m suffering a bit of seasonal allergies right now, which is making my eyes particularly painful right now, I’m going to tty to get today’s page in time, but in likelihood it will go up tomorrow.

BRB site is going to be a bit flaky while I update, and re-skin everything. D’oh.

Edit: And we’re back. Need to do some color tweaking still, and figure out why the categories are out of order, but otherwise back to working order.

A little bit of a story.

Got a new laptop, which turned out to have a bad motherboard, and had to return it. Stuck with Vista until I get that free Win7 update.

Managed to get my acient copy of Painter6 to run fine on it, but had some issues with Photoshop being laggy.

Everything works now, playing WoW at 130fps now. Thumbs up.

Haiku story aside, I’ve put my old Etsy account back into use. Right now I have some generic art up for sale.

I’m thinking about adding some BRINK sketches to the batch as well, if there’s any interest from the reading mass.

I already see it coming, slightly delay, probably going up late Monday night.

Random last minute idea to drive down to Connecticon for Sunday.

This will the first convention in over ten years, I’ve gone to as a fan and not a dealer/artist trying to sell things.  Mind BLOWN.

Also, while we’re at it, Yesterday was the birthday of BRINK. Three years ago, upon returning home from Anime Expo, I sat down over a weekend with too much free time, and starting drawing the first few pages of the comic.

Three years, yikes.  If I had asked myself back then if I thought I’d see myself still working on this comic, I’d have said no. I’m glad my past self is just a lying bastard.

Sorry folks, I don’t see myself getting a page done for today, I was hoping to have a Monday post in time, but it’s just not going to happen.

Also, no updates next weekend as well, I have a massive convention trip, which you can blame for today’s failure of postlessness, and the lack of pages next week.

Yeah, page 300! I guess that really is alot of pages.  I did some Photoshop inking after the Painter base colors, I might slowly work over to just using Photoshop at somepoint.

Anime Boston rocked,  I’m still a little beat from the workload, but I have a new bonus comic page in the works for this week. New pages will start back up on Friday.

Today’s page is up, but I should point out that Monday’s page will be pushed back until later in the week. The reason, it’s an awsome surprise, of the good kind. Keep an eye out.

Also, FINALLY the weather here has come around to something not bitter and icey. I couldn’t be happier.

Well the trip to Pleasure Beach was rather depressing. My boyfriend and I had gone roughly two years back, while the last few people still lived on the island, bravely defending their homes despite the state trying to force them to leave. We even got to talk to one guy watching the place, who seemed happy to see we were only there to take photos and not break windows.

Apparently right after we visited and took our photos, the last families where forcefully evicted leaving the place open to vandals and underage drinkers. Who knows how long it took to be torn apart from that point. It was very sad to see places that once looked like people lived in them, to seeing the whole place full of trash, doors kicked in, and bullet holes in walls. I took one souvenir, a cast iron seagull that was nailed to the wall of one home.

The worst part, was that night our Urbex group got news that around the time we had been driving back from the island, a fire broke out. News post about it.

Sad to say, that might be the straw that broke the camel’s back, teens looking to have fun have now ruined a wonderful, historic place for the rest of us. I’ll cherish my one unspoiled trip, and mourn the loss of another great Urbex location worth going to.

The only other plus to the trip, a good friend who came out to join us, gave me a neat little gift. Ten dollars in patient credit for sancks, in case I ever end up in Norwich State Hospital.

I forgot my camera, but I’ll have some taken by a friend to share soon.

Heading off to an Urban Exploration weekend, this round is a second trip to Pleasure Beach, an abandoned island in Connecticut. You can check out photos from the last trip here: Pleasure Beach Pics

I don’t know what the rest of the weekend holds, but I hope it’s as fun as playing around in an abandoned amusement park.

Finally got back a nice way to track donations, since I hate having to keep them some secretive thing. This widget is pretty neat, in that donors can add them selves to the Recognition Wall, along with a comment and link.

There seems to be some confusion about this last scene and when it takes place. All of this takes place in the past, more precisely, right before Janus got himself committed.

Because this is a flashback, I /really/ regret not putting them in alternative clothing to help keep things straight, I didn’t even notice this until I was a few pages in to this.

So durr, I’m not a good writer at times, forgive me.

Did some serious touch ups to the CSS here again, and added the new header art. I feel very proud. Now I just need to reshuffle the bios pages a bit.

I want to boost the comic back to the top 200 comics again, like I was for most of last year.
